1. Designed for children
My English Sarah Kids provides short lessons, games, stories, pronunciation practice, and learning rewards for children approximately 4–12. Content is organised into worlds and missions and does not open a public space for children to post content.
2. Parent management
An adult creates the Parent Account, adds Child Profiles, follows progress, and manages subscription, notifications, and data requests. The app supports a Parent Area PIN and an optional Child Profile PIN. PIN setup can be deferred, so active parent supervision remains important, especially on a shared device.
3. No stranger communication or ads
The child experience has no open chat, user-to-user messaging, social profiles, public sharing, or user-generated content. The current app package contains no ad network or advertising SDK, and we do not use advertising identifiers or personalised ads for children.
4. Microphone and speaking practice
Recording does not begin in the background. A parent first authorizes pronunciation analysis in the Parent Area, after being shown what is and is not sent; our backend refuses any recording until that authorization is recorded. Device microphone permission is then required, after which the child taps the microphone in a pronunciation exercise and a short clip is sent through our backend to SpeechAce for scoring. We do not send the child’s name or email. The app deletes its temporary file after the attempt and only the educational result remains in our database. A parent can decline, or withdraw later in Parent Settings, and other activities remain usable.
5. Links, purchases, and parental gates
Subscriptions, account management, and privacy controls are in the Parent Area. From the child experience, entry to that area uses the parent-PIN flow when a PIN is set, and the native subscription screen is implemented inside that protected area. Parents should enable the PIN and not share it with the child. We review new external links or purchase opportunities before placing them in the child experience.
6. Limited data and clear controls
The app requests internet, microphone, and notification access only as relevant to the feature. It does not request precise location, camera, photos, or contacts, and it does not declare Android AD_ID permission. The parent can turn off notifications, edit a profile, delete a Child Profile, or delete the Parent Account.
7. Reporting and support
Report a child-safety, privacy, or content concern through /contact or support@myenglishsarah.com. A child should not independently submit a support request or personal information; the parent should contact us. This page does not claim certification or approval by Apple or Google.
